For the past several days, Gierin had been fascinated with what her father called martial arts so
she wanted to learn it too. She liked the idea of getting to wear a black belt, Gierin's favorite
color is black. She constantly asked Knuckles if she could learn it but the answer was always the
same, no matter what.
"Please teach me."Gierin would say, giving the sappy puppy eyes.
"No, wait ‘till you're older. Your mother would tear me in half."Would be Knux's response.
This kept going until Gierin asked several times an hour.
"Please."
"No."
(Fifteen minutes later)
"Pleeease"
"Nooo."
(ten minutes later)
"Pleeeeaaaasssseee teach me."
"NO, dammit, I said no!"
(three minutes later)
"Common, teach me. I won't be any trouble."Gierin begged.
"Grrr, FINE, if you'll please just shut up."Knux replied.
"Okay."Gierin promised, being her naive yet annoying self.
(At the shrine for the Master Emerald)
"Alright, first, try and punch me."Knux said.
"Why?"
"Just do it!"
Gierin threw a punch at Knuckles, leaving a deep gouge in his cheek.
"Oh, shit! DAMMIT, SOMEBODY GET A FIRST AID KIT!!! I'M IN FREAKIN' PAIN
HERE!!!"Knux exclaimed.
"... I'm telling on you!"Gierin exclaimed.
"What? What'd I do?"Knuckles asked.
"You said(censored) and (censored). MOMMY, DADDY SAID A BAD WORD!!!"Gierin yelled
as she ran into the house to tell Rouge what she just heard.(Isn't it amazing what you hear from a
little kid's mouth?)
Knuckles grabbed Gierin by the arm before she could say anything more.
"Stop acting like that or I won't teach you martial arts!"Knux warned.
A few minutes later, Gierin had received her first belt.
"Why do I have to have a white belt? I want a cool black one like yours."Gierin said.
"If you work hard enough, you can get one but you have to prove yourself against me."Knux
replied.
Gierin did what she was told to do and kicked Knux in the (censored), well actually, she wasn't
supposed to do that. Knux fell down on his side in a fetal position, moaning and nose bleeding.
"Daddy, are you okay?"Gierin asked.
"Yeah, just dandy."Knux said sarcastically. "Oh God, get your mother."
Gierin did so. Rouge was in the bedroom asleep while hanging upside down, wings covering her
like a purple cloak.
"Mommy, wake up. Daddy's in trouble."Gierin said while knocking on the purple wings that
covered Rouge, protecting her from the light.
"What's going on?"Rouge asked, lifting one wing away from her face.
"Daddy got hurt and now he's on the floor with weird red stuff coming out of his nose."
"Oh my God!"Rouge fell to the floor with suprise.
